submission form must be filled and sent (via the net),
applicants must also print the form, sign it, and include
it in their submission package by December

Non-refundable Submission
fees: Please make your checks or money orders, (or International
money orders, for foreign countries) payable to DCIFF.
Sorry, we do not take any credit cards:
- $30 for projects
40 minutes and longer received before Nov 1st /
$35 received before Nov 15th
- $20 for projects16-40 minutes in length
received before Nov 1st / $25 received before
Nov 15th
- $15 for projects 15 minutes or shorter received before Nov 1st/ $20 received before Nov15
- Free for student filmmakers
with current Student ID and DCIFF alumni received before Nov 1st /
$10 received before Nov 15th
(Special rates ($5 off for members of IFP, ITVA, Women In Film, as well as Withoutabox filmmakers with an upgraded project)
Checklist for the submission package to be
sent to DCIFF by post mail (These materials will NOT be returned):
- Signed completed entry form
- Non-refundable entry fee
- 2 copies of properly labeled
VHS or DVD (on the box and the video/disc itself) including
title of the film, name of the director and length.
- A CD containing: 1 black
& white photo (jpeg only) of the director and 1 black
& white photo (jpeg only) of production such as poster
or filmgrab.
- Optional: Press
kits (brochures, cards, press clips, etc)

Terms of Submission
- I am authorized to submit this film to the
DC Independent Film Festival for consideration
and have read, understood and agreed to all
entry requirements.
- I understand that no film accepted for screening
in competition at DCIFF may be withdrawn without
the express written permission of DCIFF given
in DCIFF sole discretion. There are no exceptions
to this rule even in the case of technical issues.
In the event a screening print is not delivered,
DCIFF reserves the right to screen publicly
the VHS submission tape.
- I release DCIFF from all responsibility for
any and all film loss or damage.
- All of the above information and statements
are accurate. I promise to contact DCIFF immediately
regarding any changes to the information above,
including Premiere status of my film or exhibition
format. Failure to provide complete and updated
information or failure to submit an exhibition
copy of my film by the above-stated deadlines
may cause the elimination of my film from competition.
- All rights and permissions are in place for
my submission (it is the sole responsibility
of the applicant to obtain any and all necessary
rights and permissions).
- By submitting my film for consideration, I
grant permission to DCIFF to use any portion
of my film and related materials for promotion
in all media, including DCIFF catalogues, flyers,
posters and the DCIFF website.
- I am DULY authorized to submit this film
to the DC Independent Film Festival and its
competition (“DCIFF”) and I have
read, understood and agreed to all entry requirements.
- I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE that IF THIS FILM IS
ACCEPTED for screening in competition at the
DCIFF it MAY NOT BE WITHDRAWN WITHOUT EXPRESS
WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE DCIFF. THE DCIFF RESERVES
SOLE DISCRETION TO SCREEN THIS AND ALL FILMS
ACCEPTED TO COMPETITION. There are no exceptions
to this rule even in the case of technical issues.
In the event that a screening print of this
film is not TIMELY delivered, DCIFF reserves
the right to screen publicly the VHS submission
tape.
